Karina is an SYT (Senior Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance UK, founder of Pink Lotus Yoga and Teacher Training School which she runs from the Arunachala Yoga Centre, her home studio in Aberdeen. She has been running 108 Sun Salutation events since 2006.
Classically trained in Hatha Yoga, Karina embraces and brings influences from Iyengar, Yin, Sivananda, Karma and Raja Yoga to her many regular classes in Aberdeen, her workshops around Scotland and yoga retreats further afield.
In addition to her group classes, Karina sees many yoga clients on a one-to-one basis in her home studio.
Karina must be the most dedicated, conscientious and adventurous yoga instructor in Aberdeen. Each January she makes a pilgrimage to ashrams in India to sit at the feet of her Yoga Mantra Master, Muz Murray and to learn. A journey both physical and spiritual of self-discovery. By constantly challenging herself she in turn challenges her devoted students back in Aberdeen with her diverse yet harmonious teachings of the yoga union of mind, body and spirit.
Pink Lotus Yoga teachings are joyful and cheerful, full of humour yet peaceful, accessible, moving and inspirational. They are a time to breathe, to de-stress and to learn how the principles and ethics of yoga can be embraced in day-to-day life and change it for the better for ever.

Join Karina and Laura for 90 minutes of Partner Yoga
Partner Yoga can deepen and expand your yoga practice. Your muscles can relax and stretch while your partner’s resistance help your limbs stay in the pose. Because of your partner’s help, you’ll be able to try new poses and find deeper expressions of familiar poses. You’ll challenge yourself physically and emotionally by putting your body in another person’s hands. Working together leads to bonding and tests your ability to trust.
You can do new, unusual poses with your body because of the help, and it feels pretty good to go beyond old limits. In addition, giving and receiving help tends to bring people closer together. No matter who your partner is, you will become closer with them after practicing partner poses together. You will learn to try new things and trust others with your physical body and your emotions/heart.
Partner Yoga can be for everyone when practiced appropriately and it is a lot of fun! Mother and daughter, like Karina and Laura, Father and son, life partners, friends and even two students who have never met will all benefit.
Karina will also be leading the sponsored 108 Sun Salutations and Recovery Yoga on Sunday 24 September.
